A Christmas tree? A decorative Ikea item? A group of tough Vikings? Not the least! KultuurKaffee is proud to present you the talented musical quartet Nordmann! Features such as instrumental, experimental and interactive describe this progressive jazz-rock band. Compositions of unconventional creations ranging from desert rock to avant-garde jazz. In short, jazz with a surprising touch of rock.

The past years this band from Ghent has participated successfully in many renowed music competitions. They won the 'Muziekmozaïek' competition in 2012, the Storm! Contest in 2013 and finished in third place at the international jazz competition at Jazz Hoeilaart in 2013. And as icing on the cake Nordmann obtained a second place at Humo's Rock Rally in 2014.

Because of their daring interplay, which is sometimes explosive but always sincere with the necessary sense of humor, the band has gained a unique and characteristic sound. At the start of 2015 the group has also released their first full-length album 'Alarm!'. Besides this creative blend of jazz, rock and experimentation there is also room for softness that you can experience on the tracks 'Paling', 'Lights' and 'Nightwork'.

"Phenomenal controlled power jazz" - Humo

"Nordmann is jazz, rock, and the likes blended into an experiment using restless rhythms and mindblowing grooves. However explosive this might get, it needn't be all too serious. Nordmann was the absolute revelation at Humo's Rock Rally, and they'll probably be that at Glimps this year as well." - Glimps
