Laughing Bastards arouse around the music of the drumless and groundbreaking trio of Jimmy Giuffre in the 1950’s. Blues-based folk jazz, was how the master it called. The group itself describes it as ‘bastard music’. On their debut album there are no less then four Giuffre songs, including the hit number ‘The Train and the River’.
Laughing Bastards is: Michel Mast (Flat Earth Society, WoFo, X-Legged Sall), gituarist Jan-Sebastiaan DeGeyter and bass Nils Vermeulen. Drummer Casper Van de Velde gives some extra punch.
