JEROEN OLYSLAEGERS (Mortsel, 1967) is a Flemish writer and is sometimes called the ‘enfant terrible’ of Dutch literature. He studied German Philology at the University of Antwerp, after which he became a research assistant at the Louis Paul Boon documentation centre (1989-1992). He works in various organizations and festivals in the field of literature and cinema.
Olyslaegers also worked as a film critic for Humo and as a columnist for Studio Brussel, VPRO, IKON and Radio Klara. He published five novels: Navel (1994) - Kritak, Il faut manger (1996) - Houtekiet, Open gelijk een mond (1999) - Prometheus, Wij (2009) - Meulenhoff|Manteau and Winst (2012) - De Bezige Bij Antwerpen.
In addition, he published his prose in various literary journals. He also has a number of theater productions to his credit, including some work for KVS and NTGent.
